How MDM Works on An Apple Device? |

Well, in today's world almost nobody is unknown to Mobile Device Management or its uses, as far as data protection is concerned. Organizations these days use MDM to monitor devices remotely and protect their data along with other perks that come with it. With the increase in BYOD policy, MDM has become quite significant. However, most of the companies and people opt for Apple's product as they are safer and cracking them is quite tough. So, it becomes an obvious choice. But, even your Apple product needs MDM solution, yeah right! You read that right. Now, let me tell you how it works on Apple devices. In Apple, Mobile Device Management is used for sharing data and settings to iPhone, iPad, iPod, and OS X. When you use it on your device you can push email, apps, security settings, app settings, and content. People use Apple's Mobile Device Management to push these to Apple devices. But, like everything in this world, this concept also has some limitations and misconception that surrounds it. So, ladies & gentlemen, I bring you pointers that will reflect upon the working of Apple's MDM. 1. In an Apple device, your data doesn't route through it. However, the push notifications you receive, get enroute through the device but the data tends to be small. So, let take an example, if Bushel is used by you to push an email account to a device then a new email that's present on the device gets applied to the email setting, but the password of the mail never flows in this fashion. The notification that is sent by an Apple device points out that there's an active setting on Apple's MDM solution, it then sends the setting to the person and then the password is entered by the user, providing 2 layers of security between the device and the password. 2. In an iOS device, the background can't be changed through MDM Solutions. Unless you are using the device itself, it won't allow you to change the background. In a lot of devices, you can restore backup for a consistent background by using App Configurator or iTunes. MDM solutions, however, won't change the background on your iOS device. 3. APNS certificate: Always remember, it is important to have your own APNS certificate. The problematic step while setting up a Bushel account is installing your Apple Push Notification Certificate (APNS). It is mandatory to install and renew the APNS certificate when it expires across all the MDM suites. 4. VPP app: When a VPP app is sent to a device from a device that has Mobile Device Management in it, then that app can be removed. But, at the same time whether a web-clip is removable or not is optional. If Apple MDM solution is removed from the device, the app will always be removed. However, when it comes to the web-clip, it can be only removed if its setting is so. 5. Devices that are added to an Apple MDM solution through DEP devices are always on supervision and can be unsupervised only if you take off the device using DEP. Well, DEP is one of the alternatives, but many other alternatives are also present if you don't want users to unbox and set up device themselves. In today's time, there are many factoids about MDM out there. Therefore, it is essential to go through the facts because in today's time even false news becomes true.
